Abstract:

Cancer genetics involve the study of alterations that lead to malignancy. Genetic alterations can basically be classified into germline and somatic events. In this talk, we will focus on discussing various types of somatic alterations identified in hepatocellular carcinoma (a kind of liver cancer). As a background, the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma is a multistep process involving the progressive accumulation of molecular alterations pinpointing different molecular and cellular events. Using the latest next-generation sequencing technology, it facilitates the global and systematic evaluation of molecular landscapes in hepatocellular carcinoma.
