Abstract:

In order to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of abnormalities in causing human disease, Affymetrix has developed a series of high density GeneChip probe arrays capable of detecting these genetic alterations. The seminar will discuss how these SNP arrays with the combination of genotype and copy number probes and new software Genotyping Console, provide a whole-package solution for cytogenetics, including copy number and loss of heterozygosity detection, as well as breakpoint deletion identification. The seminar will also introduce Targeted Genotyping System, which combines molecular inversion probe technology with universal microarrays, and how this technology was adapted to provide a solution for Drug Metabolizing Enzymes and Transporters (DMET) analysis, currently the world’s most comprehensive method for assaying the genetics of drug metabolism.
