Recently, time and handling become more pressuring when dealing with sample preparation, as time is better spend on the important downstream applications. At the same time, the quality of plasmid DNA plays a major role when dealing with sensitive downstream applications like transfection of eukaryotic cell lines. Overall quality, as well as endotoxin levels of the isolated plasmid DNA play a major role when performing transfection experiments. High transfection efficiency, at the same time ensuring that the transfection reagent and process do not cause cytotoxicity, is a critical factor for successful transfection, as cytotoxic effects result in data that are difficult to interpret and unreliable.
