Cellular protein characterization encompasses many different research areas including stem cell and developmental biology, drug discovery and protein pathway research. Researchers are using protein analysis techniques such as immunostaining, flow cytometry, and western blotting, which all tend to be labor intensive and require sizable amounts of starting material. TaqMan® Protein Assays, which use antibodies and proximity ligation, expand the range of qPCR applications to include the direct detection of proteins. Together with the use of TaqMan Gene Signature plates that are preconfigured with the most appropriate gene assays enable the assessment of both mRNA and protein expression level of a specific biological process, pathway, biomarkers set or disease state on a integrated ViiATM7 real time PCR system. This provides simple, rapid and flexible workflow of quantitative PCR (qPCR) methods in order for the characterization of several classes of nucleic acid biomarkers (i.e. DNA, mRNA and microRNAs).

Kind Reminder: Please take off your lab coat before coming to the seminar.
