Next generation sequencing methods are being increasingly used in the clinic to identify actionable mutations in cancer and direct the treatment of cancer and other genetic disorders. Exon capture/enrichment methods reduce sample complexity, lower cost, and increase throughput. xGen® Lockdown® Probes (IDT) are individually synthesized and individually quality controlled DNA oligonucleotides for target enrichment that provide superior performance compared to probes derived from lower quality oligos manufactured on microarrays. xGen Lockdown Probes are 5′-biotinylated 120mer oligonucleotides manufactured in small scale using proprietary synthesis methods for long oligonucleotides. IDT currently offers several affordable options, including 4 premade panels, ranging from the whole human exome (429,826 probes covering 39 Mb) to a small pan-cancer collection (7816 probes covering 127 genes), as well as custom panels of any size or complexity. IDT’s optimized protocol allows a one-day workflow that includes a short, 4-hour hybridization.
